Live, Work and Play Safely” by Heather Hammonds

Think about an activity that you do, or a sporting activity you belong to and make a list of the rules that members need to follow.  For each rule, briefly explain why this rule has been put in place.

Rugby

The Rule is …..	Why this rule has been put in place…..
No tripping up.	The rule is put in place because it could start a conflict.
No high tackles.	The rule is put in place because you may break or damage their spinal cord
Don’t wear sharp pointed shoes.	The rule is put in place because you can leave a badly wounded arm or leg.
No forward passes.	The rule is put in place because the game would not be fair.
No shepherding.	The rule is put in place because it is unfair to let  someone else take the tackle.
Wear a mouthguard.	The rule is put in place because  if you don’t wear one you could possibly break your teeth.

My group made a graph of a sport and we had to explain the rules in the graph.
